Dear Friends, Business Colleagues and Supporters,

Thank you for joining us for the NPBS Helsinki Edition!

This was already the 4th Business Summit since February 2014 and the first time when we took the Pakistani companies to meet for new business and growth up North in the Nordic region – this time in Helsinki, the capital of Finland. And it was a great success! Over hundred participants, interesting presentations and huge amount of B2B talks were witnessed in the halls of Finlandia Hall. We were happy and delegates very happy; and that’s why we are using plenty of resources to make the Business Summit to happen!

We have received plenty of positive response and also new ideas to be followed at the coming Summits. We appreciate you comments and would welcome everyone to contact us for any ideas, thoughts, responses to make the coming Business Summits even better!

In fall 2012 we started to make some concrete plans to host these Summits linking together businessmen for business. The first step forward was the 1st “Pakistan – Challenges and Opportunities” – seminar hosted by the Ambassadors of both Pakistan and Finland in Helsinki in December 2012 showing us clearly the existing strong interest towards Pakistan. The first Business Summit saw the daylight just two months later in February 2014 in Islamabad, Pakistan in a form of Finland Pakistan Business Summit. Since then we have been running our own never-ending show of promoting the business opportunities in and for Pakistan.

The first Business Summit in 2014 was a great start with great success as always, after hard work obviously. Nowadays, our humble all private business-to-business event is pretty big in every scale and most of all, productive for businesses participating the event. We are a platform, not a conference and since February 2014 over 550 people from 350 companies in total have joined that platform for business. It all became pretty big, actually. We know there was plenty of people who didn’t believe that we can actually do what we were planning to do but here we are: not only annually but already twice a year companies meet for business under the umbrella of NPBS.

Again, over 100 people joined the NPBS Helsinki Edition 2017 from Finland, Sweden, Denmark, Norway, Latvia, Estonia, Lithuania and Pakistan. This is like building the first one in 2014; step by step companies do realise the potential and they are ready to move towards actions in business. On 25-26 April 2017  in Lahore we are looking forward to see at least 50 companies from the Nordic-Baltic region joining us to strongly developing Pakistan! And the ones who are not, we can guarantee that you are loosing a huge opportunity in a market of 200 million people and with 5-6 % economical growth.[/vc_column_text][vc_separator type=”transparent”][vc_column_text]Very special thanks from us go this time to Lahore Chamber of Commerce who brought their big delegation to snowy and wintry Helsinki last week. Thank you! We have had a great pleasure to meet you all a few times prior the NPBS Helsinki Edition event and we are pleased to join you all for the NPBS 2017 in Lahore on 25-26 April, 2017.

Wrt. the Chambers, we want to thank both Finland Chamber of Commerce and Helsinki Chamber of Commerce for your support and participation. We would all welcome the members of your organisations to join us to Lahore in April for growing trade and networking between the Pakistani and Finnish Chambers of Commerce![/vc_column_text][vc_separator type=”transparent”][vc_column_text]We want to thank all our speakers for their efforts sharing some valuable information about Pakistan and the Nordic region: H.E. Tariq Zameer, Ambassador of Pakistan to Sweden and Finland, Senior Advisor Mr. Jaakko Laajava of Finland Chamber of Commerce, Commercial Counsellor Ms. Saima Sabah from Embassy of Pakistan, Collaboration Coordinator Mr. Janne Penttilä from Finnpartnership, Director Mr. Kaj Jansson from Outotec, Rector Dr. Hasan Sohaib Murad from University of Management and Technology, Advisor Ms. Anne Ruokamo of Finnish Textile and Fashion, CEO Mr. Odd Eiken of Nordiced and Coordinator Ms. Momal Mushtaq of *ship Startup Festival. [/vc_column_text][vc_separator type=”transparent”][vc_column_text]NPBS is a true Nordic venture to promote growing Pakistan-Nordic trade and Finland Pakistan Business Council wants to give special applause to our dear colleagues in Pakistan Sweden Business Council and Danish Pakistan Business Council for you support and presentations at NPBS Helsinki Edition 2017![/vc_column_text][vc_separator type=”transparent”][vc_column_text]At the three earlier Business Summits we always gave the stage for our non-progit partner. This time it was time to expand also that part and we were thrilled to see how well the “NPBS Society Talks on Education” was received. The afternoon event was all about education and opportunities for a growing Nordic-Pakistan cooperation in education – one of the biggest issues where we can actually boost the development of Pakistan – and we are continuing the NPBS Society Talks with the same topic through the year 2017.

Our appreciation and big thanks belong to the Team behind the Society Talks 2017; Emeritus Professor Mr. Antti Paasio, Mr. Jussi Paasio and Mrs. Kaisu Paasio from 2nd Opinion, Ms. Lisamaria Markula from Train2Impact, Mr. Antti Kaskinen from KOULU Group and all speakers and moderators of the event! Thank you!

And the talks on education will continue at NPBS 2017 in Lahore in April with some extended approach to education sector![/vc_column_text][vc_separator type=”transparent”][vc_column_text]Once again, the support from the Embassy of Pakistan in Stockholm, Sweden has been tremendous and highly appreciated and we want to thank whole Embassy team for your time, support and efforts making this first Summit here up North possible:  H.E Traiq Zameer, Deputy Head of Mission Mr. Irfan Ahmed, Commercial Counsellor Mrs. Saima Sabah and Commercial Assistant Ms. Vaida Cirtautaite!  It has really been our great and smooth cooperation that makes the event possible![/vc_column_text][vc_separator type=”transparent”][vc_column_text]We are producing the NPBS events as non-profit, just professional B2B events promoting Nordic – Pakistan trade and business relations. As we all know, non-profit doesn’t mean no-costs and to make things professional and productive you do need sponsors and partners. We want to thank all our sponsors and partners this time, especially our Platinum Sponsor UMT – University of Management and Technology and our Gold Sponsor Outotec for your support for NPBS Helsinki Edition 2017![/vc_column_text][vc_separator type=”transparent”][vc_column_text]

“It was indeed a great show and a wonderful opportunity to meet so many business people, everything was super fantastic and organised” , first time participant of NPBS in Helsinki on 19 January 2017.

[/vc_column_text][vc_separator type=”transparent”][vc_column_text]And we certainly keep going: please keep following the “News” section, our Facebook pageTwitter or Linkedin for more details but in three months it is certainly time for NPBS 2017 and this time we shall head to Lahore!

The NPBS is not a seminar or conference, it is a platform enabling Nordic and Pakistani business people, entrepreneurs, company owners, directors, managers and representatives of any supporting organizations to meet personally for growing business and new opportunities. That has always been the core idea behind the Summit, supporting companies to do business and that’s what we are definitely doing also in the future.[/vc_column_text][vc_separator type=”transparent”][vc_column_text]We look forward to seeing you in Lahore for NPBS 2017!

In Helsinki, 24 January 2017,
